Early life and beginnings
Frank Ogbebor (Bounty) grew up in the ghetto part of Lagos called Mushin; the inner city known for its notoriety, inadequate sanitation and low-quality housing. Growing up as a kid in a rough neighbourhood where there is no much to laugh about, he found solace in his father’s playlist which comprised of Eddy Okonta, The Whispers, Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, King Sunny Ade to mention a few. He started hanging around Recording Studios honing his skills while providing back-up vocals for prominent artists like Tony Tetuila and Tuface.
In 2006, Bounty auditioned for StarQuest Musical Talent Hunt Show where contestants are drawn at random into various bands. His band “Starmate” were second runner up at the grand finale. He joined MTN Tuface and Friends Tour where he met Tuface and they recorded a duet titled “Orun Nile”. He made it to Top25 on MTN Project Fame Season 6 but he was dropped due to health issue. In 2016 he signed a music contract with Cosoro Records under which he released debut single “Americana” and the video to the song gained over 1.5 million views on YouTube in a short space of time. His latest single titled “Kowope (Blessing)” promises to outshine nearly all singles out at the moment.
